The merits of writing a book devoted exclusively to George H. Boyd (1873 – 1941), his life, times, and carvings, was never in question. His decoys and miniature bird carvings are preserved in private collections and museums nationwide.
Through interviews, expanded research, and over 100 photos of rare and verifiable examples of his art, this book significantly adds to what was previously published about George Boyd. It will assist the reader in identifying a carving by George Boyd. It will also acquaint the reader with a man and his work which evolved through a time when the American experience included a link with the land and a bond with nature.
